Our Story

It all began in November 2007, when John, now the owner and director of Mac Engineers Limited, was offered a position as an Installation Engineer. The role involved subcontracting for one of the world’s largest and most renowned overhead crane manufacturers, installing cranes across the UK and Ireland. These ranged from 105t SWL double girders equipped with state-of-the-art technology, unrivalled by any competitor, to 500kg jib cranes and runways.

As more contracts were secured, we expanded to work with the UK’s largest manufacturer, carrying out similar projects. This included installing brand-new equipment nationwide, along with electrical supplies, control cabling, and final commissioning, testing, and handover.

In 2016, a new opportunity emerged: providing service, repair, and maintenance for older types of cranes, jibs, hoists, and lifting equipment across the North of England, while also travelling further afield when required. Over these years, a wealth of knowledge and experience was gained, ultimately leading to the formation of Mac Engineers Limited in March 2022.
